This wood block carving is about following our most local blooms through time, recognising the time it takes to grow, repair, nurture and care for one another- nature always guides the way. The bottom half of the print shows irises and crocuses which are found in early spring. As you travel up the print, you can see flowers that you might find at the height of summer, followed by seed heads which develop into early autumn. The carving direction at the top of the print suggests a blustery winter wind at the top of a headland along the welsh coastline. It is quite a personal sentiment that has kept me going through the last couple of years and I think it feels relevant to what the Biophilic Walkway suggests it can do for our community too.
